Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the (INFOMAN) database by designing, creating and implementing new panels and reports used by the various application support groups (about 300 ISD users). Create new applications as required by ISD clients for tracking projects or assignments. For example, Problem database Change Management database, Order Request database, Project database and CICS Table request database. You will be required to enhance and automate existing panels or screens. Maintain the JCL used to backup, reorganize and archive the database. You will be responsible to update documentation in the process and procedure guides. Train users on an ongoing basis.You will be required to test, install, document and communicate to users all database upgrades. Research,test and plan for new and/or revised INFOMAN software and ensure changing hardware configurations are accommodated to meet client needs.You will be required to facilitate problem resolutions of high priority problems and updates by sending voice mail messages to affected users of a sev1 problem and leading problem resolution sessions as required. In addition, you will provide backup support for both Problem & Change Management Administrators.

Knowledge, Skills & Education

  • Computing technology to administer problem and change process to facilitate problem resolution meetings and to develop and maintain INFOMAN applications.
  • Computer software such as TSO/ISPF, VSAM, JCL, CLIST, REXX and INFOMAN sufficient to modify applications and produce customized analyses and reports.
  • Personal computing software i.e. WordPerfect, Lotus, Freelance, DEC, Lotus.
  • ISD processes such as: application development resource allocation, project management, change and problem management procedures.

  • The specific needs and requirements of internal clients to develop an application on INFOMAN for their use.

  • IBM INFOMAN product enhancements, fixes, releases and upgrades and anticipated implementation dates for planning implementation of the clients INFOMAN changes.

  • Computing technology normally acquired through a combination of education,training and recognized external and in-house training programs and experience in multiple systems support functions, such as operations.
